CNET is reporting on Prince’s attempt to “reclaim the Internet” through tracking and suits focused on illegal use of his content. I’m torn on this whole topic personally, but what’s most telling to me is the absolute anger and frustration present in the comments.
These are the fans you’re trying to sell to and they are generally mad and clueless as to what’s really going on. It’s sad.
It’s sad because the mishandling of technology by the music business establishment is what has largely caused the anger. But it’s also sad because these people don’t have a clue how business and money work in the real world but I’ll get off that soapbox for now.
