For most musicians and creatives, the goal is the CD, the hit song, the Big Tour or whatever project it is that says to the world “I’ve Arrived.”
For me this year, it was the release of my book.
WooHoo
Yes, it’s a big deal. I have my book, you have your CD, song, tour or whatever. Congratulations. Even if it’s not complete, congratulations on the process so far and your stick-to-it-tive-ness to date.
But as I’ve told everyone that’s congratulated me, now comes the hard part.
The Work Begins Now
Now I have to get my book and the other things I can do in front of the right people at the right time in the right way so they’ll recognize that they need it and actually buy. Did you catch all that?
- Get what I do.
- In front of the right people.
- At the right time.
- In the right way.
- So they’ll recognize their need for it.
- So they’ll buy.
This is nothing new of course. This is simply what it takes to be successful in anything worth doing. Which is the 1st reason I’m mentioning it here. Make sure you’re doing these things and doing them well.
The 2nd reason I’m mentioning this here is that I’m looking for help. I’m looking for interns.
PR/Marketing/Tech
Check out my post on my other blog for the details about my search for three people to work @5 hours a week each in three specific areas: public relations, marketing and technology. It’s a great chance to work on something real and I’ll help you with your career strategy/planning as well.
Drop me a line if you’re interested.
